Appraisals and Asset Verification

Aircraft value is based on many aspects and is constantly changing.

Bluebook value is a generalized figure for a given type of aircraft that

does address any of the specifics that greatly vary the value.  The

appraisal process can be accomplished at several levels, depending on

your requirements.  From Desktop Appraisals that give you a rapid

baseline value to Detailed Appraisals that include a physical inspection,

thorough records review and market comparison that result in determining

a very specific market value for a particular aircraft.  Banks, corporations

and individuals regularly rely on my expertise to determine the current

market value of a given aircraft.

Asset Verification is a portion of the appraisal process.  This inspection is contracted by banks and lenders to substantiate their collateral position before, during, and at termination of their exposure on a unique commodity like an aircraft.  A general visual inspection combined with a permanent records review matches installed components to the records.  Any major changes to component status, damage, or any unusual conditions are noted and reported.  Lending institutions periodically need to ascertain that the aircraft and its expensive components are the actual aircraft used as collateral.

Pilot Services

As an ATP in helicopters and an ATP in airplanes with a jet type rating, I can keep your flight operations on schedule by providing temporary pilot services.  Most of my helicopter flight time is in Bell 206B, 206L, 407 and 429.  My fixed-wing experience covers the gamut from seaplanes to corporate jets.

Available domestically or internationally for short-term contract flying as helicopter PIC or airplane co-pilot.  Being well-established in my own career, I am not interested in embedding myself long-term into your operation.

Please contact me for availability, qualifications, and references.

Training

General Training

As a CFI and CFII in airplanes and helicopters, my training focus is towards more advance dual instruction.

FAA Instrument Proficiency Checks (IPC) and FAA Flight Reviews in most general aviation airplanes and helicopters.

Specializing in recurrent and supplemental training in Bell 407s and Bell 429s.  Beyond the standard refresher course criteria, the training syllabus can be tailored to meet your mission requirements.

Bell 429 Training

Bell Textron is building, selling, and delivering the very popular Bell 429 faster than they can train pilots for this complex aircraft.  With a majority of 429s being accepted outside the US, taking delivery and preparing for shipment or ferry can be overwhelming on this aircraft.  I have been contracted numerous times to go to Bell and perform acceptance/delivery test flights on new Bell 429s for domestic and international customers who lack time in type.

If you are about to take delivery of a 429, you may need an additional pilot.  If you would like to begin flying your new ship before your crew can attend the Bell Training Academy, I can provide short-term pilot services and train pilots for you.  Perhaps you only need a safety pilot to help you ferry your ship home.  I am available and pleased to pass on my several years of practical experience operating and flying a Bell 429 single-pilot in actual IMC conditions.  Making the transition from years of VFR helicopter flying to actual IFR helicopter flying is a giant step.  Having a little extra help in the cockpit for a short period of time can be invaluable to fully utilize the Bell 429’s unique capabilities.  As a current FAA ATP, CFI and CFII, I have previously met international co-validation requirements.  From a few days to several months, I will help fill the gap in your Bell 429 operation.

Please contact me for world-wide availability to meet your Bell 429 pilot and training needs.

Bell 407 Training

The Bell 407 is one of the most popular and safest single-engine helicopters in production today.  Recently, the FAA certified the Bell GXii for instrument flight in IMC conditions. This means that most helicopter pilots could use supplemental IFR procedure training to sharpen their IFR flight skills.  In addition to standard refresher criteria, briefing and practicing inadvertent IFR procedures can help any pilot.
